I'm with you on the art! I'm actually kind of in the same place. Personally, I've decided that any night that I'm not hanging out with friends, I'm going to write my ass off and love it. You're definitely right in thinking your friends can only respect you more as you pursue your passion... people that do something they love seem to exude it from their very being and make everyone else enamored with life in their own personal way... I swear, passion is infectious!
